I am going to show you how to make your own cards in two ways. You can make them from scratch, or you can use Vistaprint.

You can take a look at some of my own cards that could easily be made into Christian Notecards. All you need to do is add a scripture verse or encouraging thought.

I created all of these with the help of Vistaprint.com but you can also use your photos to make a photo calendar memorial.

Christian Notecards Supply List:

• Paper:
  
  Here you can be as creative as you wish. You can use traditional notepaper, heavier stock paper, in a variety of colors and textures. You can make your own paper, cutting and pasting, trimming and folding. Cardstock is heavier paper, trickier to fold, but sturdier, and takes a greater variety of inks and paints.
  


• Envelopes:
  
  Not necessary for postcards, should be sized and colored to fit your Christian Notecards.
  


• Photographs or other graphics:
  
  Choose a theme, floral, animal, scenic, etc. and then select an appropriate photograph or drawing. This could come from your own files or from free or purchased graphics online.

  Some graphic software designed to help you make your own cards includes use of their graphics for personal use (i.e. not for sale).

  Any of these software programs can be used to create beautiful Christian Notecards and Christian Postcards.
  



• Words or sentiments:
  
  The Holy Bible is an endless source of timeless inspiration for those who grieve. It provides hope and encouragement for Christian notecards in every conceivable situation.

  It is a dependable resource for inspirational words and sentiments. The prayers of our own hearts supply earnest and passionate messages of hope and grace.
  



• Time:
  
  Grab a few moments here and there or sit down for a quiet creative time and you can create personalized, thoughtful Christian notecards on your own.

Procedure for Creating Christian Notecards:

• Step One:
  
  Determine the purpose of your message. Is it to be light hearted, somber, bright, low key but peaceful? This will guide you to the images and sympathy workd that you will choose.



• Step Two:
  
  Choose an image, will it be floral, and if so, subtle or bold and bright? Or is a peaceful water scene at sunset more of the tone you want to set? Again, look through your image files to see if you have something fitting.

  TIP:
  It helps if you have your images categorized so you don't have to search through all of them. When you download an image be sure to name it before you file it. Much easier to find a file that is descriptive than a set of numbers and letters.



• Step Three:
  
  Choose the paper that will communicate your message most effectively, bright white can work well for a cheerful, bold print and light hearted message. For a peaceful and serene phrase, and a quiet water scene, an off white or cream colored paper might work better. You can even choose colored paper, just be careful that your image will show up the way you want it to.



• Step Four:
  
  Now you can either use a photo editor program to place your words over the image, or simply load your printer and print out the image.

  TIP:
  I find it helpful to do a dry run with black ink on regular paper to get a clear idea how the image will display on the paper. ( keep this page to use for printing message later.)
  
  Load just one sheet of paper when you are ready for your final printing. Sometimes the top sheet of paper will cling to the underlying sheets and the printing will appear on the wrong sheet.

  Then if you are not experienced at double-sided printing, or want to handwrite your message, simply load the card stock you have chosen, and print. All that is left is to fold your card and handwrite your message. If you want to print our your message, proceed to
  
  
• Step Five:
  
  Compose your message in any word processing program, center it and position it in the lower half of the page (assuming here that you will be using a horizontal fold).
  
  Now grab that sheet that you printed your image on. Load it into your printer so that the text will appear on what will be the lower inside surface of the card. Try it out.
  
  If the text appears where you want it, then go ahead and print the final copy in the same way. If not, keep turning the dummy page until you get the result you want.
