Ways to Manage Stress

Learning ways to manage stress is critical to grief recovery. Because losses and the resulting grief are themselves stresses, it is really important to have coping skills that keep additional stresses at a minimum.

Some stresses are challenging to address. The issue of nurse work schedules and burnout is one of those stressors. In some situations, work schedules are beyond the individual staff nurse's control.

So ways to manage stress that the nurse has developed, directly impact the amount of damage heavy work schedules can do.
