About Karen Grisham

Hi, I want to tell you about Karen Grisham. (That's me!)
About my site: I built this site because promoting mental health is such a rewarding part of my work. I am an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I am passionate about emotional wellness. My role allows me to have a major impact on the well being of my clients.
I have been a practicing registered nurse since 1966.
In 1996 I earned a Master's Degree in advanced practice nursing, psychiatry and mental health.
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) revolutionized my practice in 2003, and in 2006, I studied EFT
(Emotional Freedom Techniques) with Gary Craig.
Early in 2007 I completed the first Level One preparation in Be Set Free Fast, (BSFF)
These additional therapies allowed me to expand my practice and enhance our nursing community.
While professional nursing services are only available in the office, I am developing a program that will offer EFT instruction through my website. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting innovation.
Many times fears and phobias, as well as other emotional problems can be effectively relieved with self-administered EFT. I can guide you through this process methodically and effectively with the upcoming progam "Comfort Steps".
As you move through this site, you will learn more about Karen and the passions for comforting the hurting that keep this website a high traffic site for the bereaved.
My Spiritual and Philosophic Foundations
I believe that "God comforts us not to make us comfortable but to make us comforters."
God's grace during my own life experiences, has taught me a lot about comforting others.
Once again, the autonomy of advanced practice nursing affords me the opportunity to share my expert help and faith in a meaningful way.
When my little granddaughter died in 2002, I searched for a simple, message to reassure me that I wasn't losing my mind.
I found nothing I could concentrate on, lots of books, but I had no concentration! This was serious, it was all about Karen getting her mind back, and I didn't have much time.
I developed a simple grief recovery plan, and published it with pictures and brief thoughts to ponder. In my book,
"Growing Beyond Your Loss"
you can go at your own rate, read one little page at a time, go back and forth, as your grief journey requires.
Other publications are also available.
I have authored a comprehensive resource for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. It is in ebook form and can be ordered through Clickbank. The title is
"Grieving the Suicide of Someone You Love"
and can be ordered by clicking on the link.
"How to Choose a Mental Health Professional", my inside knowledge of the mental health delivery system, helps you navigate the health care system to find just the right practitioner for you, based on your insurance coverage, or other payment plan, and other special needs.
