Biblical Inspiration: A Tribute to Kelly
I am pleased to share this Biblical inspiration tribute written by a grieving mother
who lost her older daughter several years ago.
She has dedicated her life to sharing the hope of Jesus, ministering to the hurting,
visiting women in the jails, and a source of religious inspiration to all she meets.
One More Time
The year goes by with the changes of seasons
My mind drifts to thoughts of the past with my daughters
I see them starting school, angels in church pageants, swimming lessons
The ache is deep but I look for grace...beautiful unexplained grace...
It comes as silently as the snow
Laura is 24 now, Kelly went home at 23, she is 27
Two gifts from Heaven
One near me, ONE rejoicing with the King of Kings
The ache is searing at times but I pray for peace...comforting peace
It comes gently like the sweep of a delicate butterfly close by
I am different after this, a pain that comes and changes me
I have sensed the presence of a God that cares
He holds me together, I know!
He walks with me and tells me He loves me.
I ask Him, "Why?"
He says to my soul, "Your child did not die in vain, nor did my SON, Jesus.
Go tell others what you know to be true. Kelly is more alive than ever.
She believed in HIM, His birth, His death. His resurrection.
Kelly wrote her last prayer one week before she came home.
"I want to live my life for Jesus. I will live my life for Jesus.
Her prayer is completed, she is with Me in paradise!
You have a purpose in this world because of Kelly,
You have a message of HOPE to share because of my SON."
So, a grieving mother carries the message to a hurting world, one that
needs a Savior,
like me - - Like Kelly
Loving the students I teach each day
Quieter more reflective then before
Weekly visits to the incarcerated
Searching for the hurting, lonely, desperate who will listen
-they appear in my path
I tell them again of the One who was born and died for them, who loves them
I ache, I feel pain and yet there is unexplained grace and comforting peace
That runs over me...cleanses me, fills me, strengthens me
I can almost hear Kelly say,
"Go tell them ONE MORE TIME Mom...it really is true!
Tell them the message of HOPE, JESUS.., He is our hope."
John 11:25-26 says...
Jesus said to her,
"I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."
Do you believe this?"
Yes, Lord I believe and so did Kelly!

Editor's note: Carol has shared this Biblical inspiration with her students, the women she visits and mentors in Marion County Jail. She has
spoken to audiences of those who have lost children or who minister in prisons.
Her tribute has been meaningful in bringing Biblical inspiration to the hopeless and hurting for the past several years.
