An Engraved Pet Memorial is a Permanent Tribute

An engraved pet memorial is the ultimate in memorial tribute to a beloved pet. Everything from glassware to frames to jewelry to stones and plaques can be engraved for this purpose.

Pet Memorial Stone

These can be placed in a special part of the yard or on a deck or near the entrance of your home.

You can make a larger stone a focal point, adding plantings or other statuary to create a special place to commemorate the wonderful times you shared with your special friend.

In our yard, we have a corner which is higher than the rest of the yard. It is bordered by a retaining wall on one side and fence on the other. It is shaded with rhododendrons.

Our Tess would dig herself a depression in the dirt and spend hours just observing the rest of the yard, or sleeping.

Memorial Plaque Markers

We chose an engraved pet memorial plaque markerthat we had personalized with her name and the dates of her birth and death. These are available in a number of shapes, and styles. Ours is a simple plaque that has prongs that hold it in the ground.

Engraved Windchimes

I have seen lovely engraved pet memorial windchimes. One of my favorites has the Rainbow Bridge poem on the hanger. The ones I have seen are not personalized, but pre-engraved, but they are truly beautiful.

Again, any chime with a flat hanging piece would likely be engravable.

Engraved Jewelry

Most items of engravable jewelry can be used to create an engraved pet memorial piece. You can find dog and cat shapes in flat metal that in turn can be worn as a pendant or pin.

Your imagination is the only limitation here. Some people place some of their pet's ashes or a lock of it's hair in a locket. The locket may or may not be engraved.

Figurines

Figurines are usually limited to models of specific breeds. It is often difficult to find a figurine to resemble a mixed breed dog, or domestic cat.

That said, there are kits that contain figurines that can be painted and decorated to your own taste, including adding a name.

Engraved Photograph Frames

There are plenty of options when it comes to choosing a personalized memorial frame for your pet’s picture.

Frames can be made of a variety of materials, and can include engraved poems as well as the name of your pet. Photo frames make a portable, practical and affordable engraved pet memorial to have for yourself or to give to a grieving pet owner.
