Years ago, my husband and I attended a financial freedom seminar. Mainly it targeted getting out of debt and learning to live on less. It was immensely helpful and we simplified our lives considerably.

We both started college in our forties, and graduated with Masters Degrees in Mental Health.

Fortunately, we were able to build a professional practice that supported us nicely.

We expected that our financial freedom would come from being self employed in a field that was pretty secure.

It's a wonderful feeling to be able to take actions that allow people to get their lives back. Seeing folks finally say goodbye to unrelenting anxiety, or make changes that reconnect them to the ones they love is incredibly rewarding. Financial freedom was a side benefit.

Life was good, work was good, wonderful kids (all grown), adorable grandkids, perfect house, an unbeatable companion dog (now two of them!), I could go on.....

Then our little granddaughter died, and shortly after that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It occurred to me that there might come a time when we would not be able to maintain the practice. The foundation of our financial freedom now didn't seem so secure after all.

Personally, I struggled to find my way through what I now know as the grief process. I searched for some easy to read words of comfort that would reassure me and help me get back on my feet.

At that point, financial freedom was the last thing on my mind. Nothing I found met the limits of my energy, concentration and retention.

So over the next couple of years I wrote a little grief book, Growing Beyond Your Loss...
We were doing OK financially, but not willing to sink thousands into publishing this book.

So we needed to decide whether to self publish or scrap the whole idea???

I didn't want to go through the process of submitting the manuscript and waiting months to get an answer. I wanted that financial freedom now!

We explored self publishing, and did that, but what now? At first, we didn't think of building a website to share my book and experience with others.

I knew absolutely nothing about such a venture. Oh, how I wish I had known about SBI then. (I learned about SBI and how Ken Evoy has all of the kinks worked out. The program teaches you everything you need to know, when you need to know it.)

We struggled along and got online, registered the domain name with a cheap host, and sat back!

Needless to say, nothing happened.

By this time, I had 'captured the attention' of one of the big Internet Marketing outfits. Financial freedom was within my grasp! (You get their attention by registering a domain that appears on some huge data base in the sky).

Silly me, I thought it was because my little grief site was special. I bought their well-oiled sales pitch, hook, line and sinker. (One thing about SBI, it does not promise GRQ!!)

I bought six months of "Advanced Mentorship" and sunk a huge chunk of money into it.

How incredibly embarrassing!! Suffice it to say, if I had known about SBI, I could have operated two SBI sites for the rest of my life for what I paid them.

After six months of personal mentoring, I was very close to total insanity. Trying to learn all of the intricacies of HTML, CSS and a host of other terms and processes that I don't even remember, I had pretty much lost a whole summer.

Then my mentor, in our last visit, told me about the SBI (Site Build It) hosting program that he personally used.

That was the one valuable piece of information I took away from the overpriced, demanding and phony program. And it is a much easier way, believe me.
